The Enugu State Government has announced that it is restarting the Continuous Survey Revalidation and Digitisation Exercise. This is part of the ongoing Survey Records Digitisation Programme.

The exercise will continue until the end of August 2026. It is an important step in the state’s plan to make its Land and Survey Records System digital.

The goal is to create a fully digital, transparent, and reliable land management system in Enugu State. The exercise is also part of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s plan for the state's development.

The government is asking all landowners, estate developers, surveyors, and property owners to take part. They should submit their Survey Plans, Layout Approvals, and other land documents for checking and revalidation.

These documents will help with Digital Identity and Geospatial Mapping. They will also be used to issue Digital Land Identity Cards. The government said the exercise will take place at five locations across the state.

The centres are:

  • Enugu State Geographic Information System Service (ENGIS) headquarters, located at No. 4 Chisomoi Ukpaka Close, Ebe-ano Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu
  • Nsukka Local Government Area Secretariat
  • Enugu State Ministry of Housing
  • Enugu State Housing Development Corporation
  • Office of the Surveyor-General, Enugu

The state government has promised to ensure an error-free land management system. This is part of their efforts to improve how land and survey records are managed, accessed, and trusted in the state.

Chiwetalu Nwatu, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of ENGIS, made the announcement.
