A fight broke out at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party's deputy governorship candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, during Saturday's governorship election in Ile-Ife.
The clash happened when the All Progressives Congress's deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, showed up at Adewusi's polling unit.
Adereti had already voted at his own polling unit, Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before heading to the deputy governor's polling unit.
His arrival stirred up tension among Adewusi's supporters who were present, leading to a heated argument.
The situation briefly disrupted what had been a peaceful atmosphere at the polling station as supporters exchanged harsh words and tempers flared.
As of the time of this report, it was unclear why Adereti visited the polling unit.
Still, his presence seemed to have rattled some of Adewusi's supporters, which led to the confrontation.
