An early morning fire has destroyed parts of the well-known Bode Market in the Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The fire damaged many shops and goods worth millions of naira.

As of now, the cause of the fire is still unknown. There has been no official word from the state Fire Service about the incident.

An eyewitness named Serifat said, “The blaze caused extensive damage, leaving many traders counting their losses. We have not known the cause of this fire incident.”

It was reported that firefighters arrived quickly and managed to control the fire, stopping it from spreading to other areas.

Bode Market is one of the largest markets in Ibadan. It is a major center for trading herbs, animal skins, and other traditional products.

Traders from all over the South-West and other parts of Nigeria come here to do business.
