Four adults and a 15-year-old girl are facing charges after a newborn baby died in Sheffield.
The baby girl was discovered in a house on Holywell Heights, Wincobank, on Sunday morning. Police arrived after receiving calls about her safety.
According to reports from the BBC on Wednesday, two men, aged 19 and 38, and two women, aged 20 and 37, have been charged with murder. They are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and trying to hide the killing of the baby.
The 15-year-old girl is charged with trying to hide the killing as well. Her name has not been released because she is a minor.
Police confirmed that all five suspects are being held in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
The suspects include Peter Horvath, 19, who lives on Holywell Heights; Andrea Skopova, 20, who previously lived on Robey Street; Nina Horvathova, 37, also from Holywell Heights; and Peter Horvath, 38, from the same area. The 15-year-old girl is also among those charged.
The investigation is still ongoing as detectives try to find out what happened that led to the baby's death.
