How Otti is Changing Youth Empowerment in Abia

For a long time, youth empowerment in Abia State meant one thing: giving out keke tricycles, offering a few political jobs, and paying small amounts.

It is done in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-Atlantic University. The Academy mixes computer-based tests, intense training, mentorship, and project development.

This is the state’s main tech talent program. Participants learn software development, product design, data skills, and digital skills. Each participant gets a laptop to ensure learning continues outside the classroom. TechRise is creating employable talent for Nigeria’s digital economy, right in Aba and Umuahia.

Abia Soccer Fest

Sports is also being used for development. The Soccer Fest finds, trains, and showcases young football talent while teaching discipline, teamwork, and careers in sports management. It keeps youths productively engaged and opens doors to international opportunities.

In the past, it was all about keke and small appointments. Those programs only fed stomachs for a short time. ASLA, TechRise, and Soccer Fest are feeding futures for a lifetime.
