Ikobi community shaken as herders kill local trader

Suspected armed herders have killed a patent medicine seller named Ojoma Emie in Ikobi, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.

A local resident, who goes by Sam, said the attackers beheaded the medicine seller and took his head away.

Sam shared details of the incident during a phone interview on Monday. He explained that the victim had gone to Ugbokpo, the local government headquarters, and was heading back home to Ikobi when the attackers struck.

“What we gathered was that the deceased, who was a patent medicine seller, had gone to Ugbokpo to buy medicine and stock his shop,” Sam said.
