Jigawa Speaker Says Supporting Tinubu is a Must

The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu, says that supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections is a duty for everyone in the state.

Mr Aliyu spoke on Saturday at the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential and governorship campaign council in Dutse, the state capital.

He described supporting Mr Tinubu’s re-election as a religious duty and a way to show gratitude, saying that the President has always backed Northern political goals during his time in office.

Mr Aliyu highlighted Mr Tinubu’s key role in helping former President Muhammadu Buhari get elected, arguing that Northern Nigeria should be loyal to him in return.

“President Tinubu is a devout and dedicated Muslim leader who has the best interests of Jigawa State at heart,” Mr Aliyu said.

He mentioned that even though Jigawa was not on the President’s campaign schedule, Mr Tinubu decided to visit because he trusts the state’s leadership and its people.

“That is why we must vote for him and support the APC at all levels,” he urged party members.

Party Strength

Talking about the party’s readiness, the Speaker showed confidence in its electoral strength. He pointed out that former governors, senators, and federal lawmakers were present at the event, which shows that the APC has strong support across Jigawa.

Mr Aliyu, who also leads the pro-Tinubu support group called City Boy Movement in Jigawa, shared plans to increase house-to-house campaigns as the elections approach.

“We will mobilise the City Boy Movement across Jigawa, going from household to household to showcase the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi,” he said.
