Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang urges Plateau indigenes in Kaduna to support President Tinubu's re-election. He highlights the importance of federal support for local development.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has asked Plateau indigenes living in Kaduna to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. He pointed out that the federal government has been backing infrastructure projects in Plateau.
Mr Mutfwang made this call on Friday while speaking to the Plateau community in Kaduna. This was just before the official start of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign on Saturday.
He said working together with the federal government will speed up development. He urged the community to help secure another term for Mr Tinubu.
“Let us join hands to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term in 2027 so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver tangible benefits to our people and our nation,” he stated.
The governor also mentioned that Nentawe Yilwatda becoming the APC national chairman is a chance for Plateau to boost its influence in national politics. He recalled the late Solomon Lar’s role in leading national parties and said Plateau’s representation should help promote the interests of its people.
Mr Mutfwang expressed gratitude to members of the Kaduna community who came to Plateau to vote for him in the 2023 governorship election. He said their support was crucial for his victory and he would not forget it.
He promised to keep the relationship strong as the 2027 elections approach. He also encouraged the indigenes to take part in the democratic process while keeping peaceful ties with their host community.

The governor highlighted his administration’s work. He mentioned ongoing road projects in Plateau’s 17 local government areas, reforms in education, and improvements in healthcare facilities. He also spoke about working with security agencies.
He talked about the Tin City Metro bus service and the federal approval for major road corridors linking Plateau with other states. He said these projects will enhance transportation, boost trade, and create economic opportunities.
Earlier, Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo, Secretary to the State Government Samuel Jatau, and Director-General of the Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Council Joseph Ari encouraged the community to stay involved in Plateau’s affairs as the 2027 elections draw near.
The chairman of the Plateau community in Kaduna, John Nanpe, thanked the governor for his visit. He also promised the community’s support for his re-election.
Peter Dasat, a patron of the community, praised the administration and urged Mr Mutfwang to stay focused on his development goals.
