Nigeria Targets Investment in Oil and Gas at China Exhibition

A Nigerian team is going to China next month to seek investments in its oil and gas sector.

The team will attend the China Dongying International Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment and Technology Exhibition (CDYPE 2026) from 28 to 30 September in Dongying, China.

Oraso Consulting Ltd is organizing this mission. They said the Nigerian team will showcase several investment-ready oil and gas projects at the exhibition.

The delegation includes regulators, state officials, and local oil and gas companies looking for financing, technology, equipment, and partnerships. This was stated by Tuoyo Memuduaghan from Oraso Consulting.

He mentioned that CDYPE 2026 is expected to have over 500 exhibitors. This includes major Chinese energy firms like Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, and PipeChina.

According to Mr Memuduaghan, there will be a special Nigeria-China session. This will allow the delegation to meet directly with Chinese investors, engineering firms, equipment makers, and financiers at the exhibition.

“The goal is to showcase credible projects, find suitable Chinese partners, and move discussions towards real commercial agreements,” a programme official said.

The statement added that Nigeria's participation is part of its efforts to draw in reliable foreign investment into its oil industry. It aims to connect local operators with international partners who have the needed capital, technology, and expertise.

CDYPE is one of China’s global platforms that brings together companies, investors, manufacturers, engineering firms, technology providers, and government bodies from China and other nations.
