Okpebholo mocks Adeleke's dance moves, tells Osun voters to take cash but vote APC

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Thursday made fun of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, because of his love for dancing. He urged voters to take money from other political parties but vote for the All Progressives Congress in the governorship election on August 15.

Okpebholo spoke at an APC campaign rally for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, also called “Ambo.” Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, was also there.

The Edo governor mocked Adeleke’s dance moves, saying they showed poor leadership and distracted him from doing his job.

“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” Okpebholo told the crowd.

Reject Adeleke and Obaseki

Okpebholo linked Adeleke to former Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, saying both should not be voted for.

“That man is Obaseki’s friend. You know we kicked Obaseki out of Edo. So, we have to kick his friend out of this place too. A lot of people ‘chopped’ Obaseki’s money, but they never voted for him,” he added.

He also talked about the Accord Party giving money to voters before the election. Okpebholo told supporters to take the money but vote for the APC candidate.

“If they bring money, ‘chop’ that money from them, but don’t vote for them. They said they have money to spend, is that not so? Just collect the money, keep it in your pocket,” he said.

Support for Oyebamiji

While campaigning for Oyebamiji, the governor described him as the leader Osun needs. He promised better roads and infrastructure if Oyebamiji is elected.

He also complained about the bad state of roads in Osun, saying, “The road I was passing, my tyre was shaking. I said, is it the dancing road or the dancing governor’s road?”

He ended his speech by calling on the crowd to support the APC in the elections.

“Osun, are we ready to make a change? Are we ready to say bye-bye to dancing?” he asked, as supporters cheered.
