Otti Calls for Unity Among Labour Party Members for 2027 Elections

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called on Labour Party (LP) members in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, to come together and support his administration's plans as they get ready for the 2027 elections.

Mr Otti spoke during the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders’ Summit at the Umuomainta Women’s Hall on Monday.

The theme for the event was “Sustaining the Transformation: A United Labour Party in Nsulu for 2027 and Beyond.”

Representing the governor, the party’s National Vice Chairman for the South-East, Ishmeal Onuoha, said that unity and peaceful collaboration are key to ongoing development in the area.

He urged party members not to stand aside but to join in party activities and support Otti’s vision for progress.

Mr Otti called for inclusive leadership, respect for party leaders, and teamwork among members to boost peace, unity, and development in Nsulu.

He promised that the concerns raised during the summit would be taken seriously, describing the gathering as “the beginning of success.”

He encouraged the stakeholders to keep the spirit of unity alive after the summit and work towards winning the party's election in 2027.

In his speech, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Caleb Ajagba, described Nsulu as a community rich in influential men and women.

Mr Ajagba expressed hope that the turnout at the summit would help strengthen the party’s presence in the area.

He said the immediate goal is to build a solid political structure that can gather support for Mr Otti’s bid for a second term and for other candidates from the party.

He stated that every stakeholder has a role to play and assured that the party would assemble its best team for the 2027 elections.

Mr Ajagba announced that the leadership of the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders’ Forum would soon be set up to rally support for the governor and other candidates.

In his remarks, the state Chairman of LP, Peter Azubuike, urged Nsulu leaders to work with stakeholders from various political groups in the area to ensure victory for the party.

Mr Azubuike said that helping Mr Otti get a second term is a shared responsibility, stressing that the governor’s achievements should encourage support for his reelection.

The state Chairman of Abia Arise, Nkem Okoro, emphasized the need for unity among party members in Nsulu.

Mr Okoro called for cooperation among the three political groups in Isiala Ngwa North, which includes Nsulu, Ngwaukwu, and Ntigha.

He argued that having a common political goal would boost the party's chances at the polls.

During a presentation titled “Labour Party Nsulu: The Challenges and Way Forward,” stakeholder Chris Ugwumadu said that unity is vital for the party's success in 2027.

Mr Ugwumadu noted that while the party has grown, growth comes with challenges, and members must resolve their differences to pursue a common goal.

“We are all committed to delivering the governor and Labour Party candidates in our various wards in Nsulu,” he stated.

He urged everyone to set aside their differences, work together, and strengthen the party’s grassroots efforts.

In separate goodwill messages, other stakeholders like Godwin Nnaji and John Enyioko stressed the importance of the Nsulu community's contribution to the party’s success in elections.

They called for ongoing unity among community and party leaders.

They highlighted the Umuomaiukwu Smart School and Abia International Airport Project as significant investments that could benefit the area and the state.

The Women Leader of Umuomainta Community, Esther Mbuko, called for unity and grassroots mobilization, asking party members to start door-to-door campaigns.

Mrs Mbuko mentioned that the policies and programs of the Otti administration have positively impacted the people and encouraged collective support to continue the development in the state.

The Councillor for Isiala Nsulu Ward 3, Chinyere Obadiah, said Mr Otti has stayed focused on the rebuilding agenda he laid out before becoming governor.

Mrs Obadiah, who has followed Mr Otti’s political journey since his first run in 2015, said the current administration’s infrastructure projects reflect its development goals.

She urged everyone to make a conscious effort to vote in the 2027 elections.

The summit also included the inauguration of the Executive Council Members of the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders Forum.
