Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Osun State Governorship election on August 15, has called on voters not to sell their votes. He wants the people to use their Permanent Voters Cards wisely and vote for him as governor.

Oyebamiji spoke in Osogbo on Sunday during a meeting with the leadership and members of the Ansar-u-Deen Society in the state. He was the Finance Commissioner in Osun State and promised to lead the state toward growth and development if elected.

He mentioned that he has put together a document with his plans for Osun State. "The PVC is an instrument that gives each person the right to choose who leads them for a period of time. I am appealing to our people not to sell their PVC but to use it wisely to vote for someone who can lead well."

He assured the crowd that if they vote for him, he will quickly redirect the state toward progress. "It is in our manifesto how we will lead you and the state to greater heights among other states in Nigeria," Oyebamiji said.

He also asked the society to pray for the state, stressing that peace is essential before and after the election. He said, "I encourage you, especially religious leaders, to keep praying for peace and to talk to our people to allow peace to reign before and after the election. No one should be harmed because of the election."

Oyebamiji added that both politicians and citizens should promote peace so that everyone can come out to vote for the state's progress and development.

Earlier, Hafiz Akande, the Secretary of the Ansar-u-Deen Society in Osun, praised Oyebamiji as a leader who listens. He described him as a devoted family man and a practicing Muslim who fears Allah.

Akande said the society is non-partisan, but they will not ignore any Muslim who wants to run for office. "Let me make it clear that as a group, ADS remains non-partisan. However, we will not ignore or abandon our members who show interest in governance. We understand the need to support our members who aspire to leadership roles."

He continued, "We believe that authority is a sacred trust from Allah, and no one gains it except by His will. Therefore, it is noble for our members to seek leadership with sincerity and competence for the good of the wider society."

The election in Osun State will take place on August 15, where voters will choose a new governor. The current governor, Ademola Adeleke, is running for re-election with the Accord Party, and there will be candidates from fourteen political parties in the running.
