Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election on 15 August, has promised that the election will be peaceful. He urged voters to ignore any rumors of violence.
Mr Oyebamiji spoke on Wednesday during a rally in Odo-Otin area of the state. He said that no one would be allowed to intimidate or scare voters at the polls.
The APC candidate warned that any thug or troublemaker who tries to disturb voters will face serious action from security agencies.
He expressed confidence in winning the election and said his victory would bring a new era of progress to Osun State.
Mr Oyebamiji also advised voters to protect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and not sell them for any reason.
“Don’t sell your PVC. It is your power and license to participate in the election.
“I urge you to keep your PVC safe. Those who recently registered should ensure they collect it on time,” he said.
He further promised that if elected governor, his government would treat all parts of the state equally.
“Our manifesto will address every sector.
“For rural areas, our focus is to use agriculture to grow the economy and provide basic infrastructure that will help farmers and reduce hunger.
“I will ensure that health, education, and commerce receive the necessary attention,” he said.
