The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has set up a committee to address complaints from some aspirants and key members after the party primaries. This was announced on Sunday. The goal is to mend relationships and keep peace as the state prepares for the 2027 general elections.
A statement from the state Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, in Ibadan, listed the committee members. They include Senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf, Hosea Agboola, and Akin Oke. Other members are former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Prof. Afolabi Oladapo, Idris Adeoye, Pa Timothy Jolaoso, Olukemi Alao-Akala, Adebayo Adewusi, Gunju Ojo, and Adekemi Opatunde.
This committee will be inaugurated this week by the state Chairman of the party and former Deputy Governor, Moses Adeyemo. Their job will be to reach out to everyone who got the APC’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms in Oyo State but did not win the party’s tickets for various positions.
PUNCH Online reported that the APC governorship candidate in the state, Sharafadeen Alli, received his Independent National Electoral Commission nomination form on Thursday, July 2, 2026. He also introduced Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the upcoming governorship election.
More members of the reconciliation committee include Abisoye Fagade, Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Abu Gbadamosi, Isiaka Alimi, Niran Adeyoju, Yinka Folarin, Emmanuel Olaoye, Mufutau Adisa, Sule Ajibade, Prof. Abideen Olaiya, Dayo Lawal, Ibrahim Bolomope, Mabel Williams, Jelili Agboola, Kehinde Oloya, Goke Oyetunji, Ramota Okemakinde, Raji Rasaki, Segun Ajanaku, Shakiru Fagunwa, Abduwaheed Lawal, Esther Adedokun, and Obatunde Oladapo.
Sadare said, "The reconciliation committee, after it is inaugurated later this week, will meet with all relevant stakeholders. This includes aspirants who are unhappy with the results of the recent primaries that selected the APC’s candidates for the next general elections.
He added, "It is hoped that this effort will bring about the peace and unity needed for our great party to achieve a strong victory at the polls next year."
