The Akwa Ibom State Police have found a Ford Jeep that was stolen in Uyo. They arrested a man with the vehicle in Delta State.

The suspect is Bright Okon, who works for a private security company. He was caught on August 27, 2026, after police traced the jeep from Akwa Ibom to Delta.

This information came from a statement released on Monday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John.

The jeep was reported stolen from Akpasak Estate, Uyo, on August 13. After the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, ordered an investigation into the theft.

Police said they used technology to track the vehicle, which led to its recovery and Okon's arrest. The statement said, "The operation resulted in the arrest of one Bright Okon, male, an employee of a private security company, who was found in possession of the stolen vehicle."

After the arrest, the Ford Jeep was taken to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for further investigation. The police said they are still looking into how the jeep was stolen and moved to Delta State.

They also want to find out if others were involved in the theft. CP Azare warned anyone involved in stealing or hiding stolen vehicles that the police will keep chasing them no matter where they go.

"The command will continue to pursue them relentlessly, irrespective of where they may attempt to hide," he said.

The police asked the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or stolen vehicles.
