The Oyo State Police have confirmed that they rescued Busayo Adelabu-John Paul, the sister of Adebayo Adelabu, along with her two sons on Saturday.

Olayinka Ayanlade, the Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo, shared the news of the successful rescue in a brief statement to journalists on Saturday night.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reminds us that Mrs Adelabu-John Paul, who is the younger sister of the former Minister of Power, was kidnapped along with her twins on June 3. They were taken in Ibadan while she was taking the children to school.

Gunmen attacked her in the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan and forcefully abducted her and the twins.

The kidnapping shocked her family and the political community in Oyo State. Adebayo Adelabu is known as a former minister and a hopeful candidate for governor with the APC.
