The Benue State Police Command has saved eight people who were kidnapped and arrested two suspects. This happened after an abduction on the Ugbokolo-Ajegbe-Awume Road in Ohimini Local Government Area.

The victims were taken on Tuesday, 13 October, around 8:15 p.m. Armed men stopped a group of people coming back from a village market before Ipiga village, according to the police statement released on Monday.

The statement, from police spokesperson Peter Aondongu, said two victims were rescued on 16 October. Six others were saved on 18 October.

The victims were taken to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Otukpo for medical checks and treatment.

Police officers from the command, the Police Mobile Force, and the Benue State Civil Protection Guards worked together on this case.
