Reno Omokri is Nigeria's new ambassador to Mexico
Reno Omokri has officially started his duties as Nigeria's ambassador to Mexico. He will also represent Nigeria in Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

The Mexican government has given the green light for Reno Omokri to be Nigeria’s ambassador there.
Mr Omokri shared this news in a post on X on Tuesday.
He mentioned that José Flores, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Mexican Embassy, handed him the agrément. This document confirms that the Mexican government accepts his appointment.
An agrément is the official approval needed for a diplomat to work in another country. This means he has officially started his duties.
Mr Omokri will also represent Nigeria in Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
He has been given the responsibility to serve in all three countries.

“To God Be The Glory, The Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Abuja, Mr José Manuel Briseño Flores, Today In Abuja Delivered The Agrément From The Government of the United Mexican States Accepting Me, Bemigho Reno Omokri, to Serve as Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Mexican States, With Concurrent Accreditation To The Republic of Guatemala, The Republic of Honduras, and The Republic of Nicaragua, to the Director of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency, Ambassador Babagana Wakil,” he wrote.
PREMIUM TIMES reported earlier that President Bola Tinubu announced the new ambassadors last year. He approved their postings in March.
The president approved the postings of 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career diplomats. This happened two years after he recalled the previous ambassadors. Those included 41 non-career and 42 career diplomats in September 2023, but no specific reason was given for that decision.
Many of the newly appointed ambassadors have already begun their duties.
