Robbers Attack Lagos Biker, Victim Dies from Injuries

A motorcyclist named Mohammed has died after suspected robbers attacked him with a machete in Baiyeku, Ikorodu, Lagos State. The attack reportedly happened when the robbers tried to rob him on Sunday evening.

Sources say the robbers had already struck in another part of the neighborhood before they entered Mohammed's shop. He also provided phone-charging services in his shop where the attack took place.

Mohammed suffered serious injuries and was quickly taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he died on Monday.

A community member spoke to PUNCH Metro on Monday but wanted to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the case. They confirmed the details of the incident.

"Mohammed used to charge phones for people. On the night of the incident, the robbers entered his shop and tried to rob him. They attacked him with a machete and cut off his ear. He was taken to the hospital, but we found out he died this morning," the source said.

This source also mentioned that there were other victims in a different part of the community where the suspects had attacked earlier.

A police source told PUNCH Metro on Monday that they have received reports about the incident, and they are now investigating.

"The incident was reported at our station, and we are aware of it. We suspect that cultists carried out the attack because of a related incident in the area that same evening. We are looking into it," the police source said.

When asked about the incident on Monday, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi said she had no information on it. She promised to get back to our correspondent, but she had not done so by the time this report was written.
