Soldiers from Operation Fansan Yamma have stopped an attack by suspected Lakurawa terrorists. They recovered rocket-propelled grenade launchers, explosives, and other equipment during a clearance operation in Kebbi State.

An operational report shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday said the operation was carried out by the 8 Division under Sector 2.

The report stated that the troops encountered the terrorists near Dogon Daji in Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi on Sunday during an offensive operation.

The report explained that the terrorists shot at the troops, but they were overpowered by the military's stronger firepower. The terrorists were forced to run away from the area.

"The troops then chased the fleeing terrorists and carried out further operations in the area."

The report listed the items recovered during the operation. These included rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launch tubes, rocket-propelled grenades, several improvised explosive devices, two motorcycles, a charger, and other personal items left behind by the terrorists.

The report confirmed that there were no casualties among the troops during the operation.

It mentioned that this operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Operation Fansan Yamma to break down terrorist and bandit groups active in the North-West region.

The report added that continued offensive operations have helped to limit the movements of criminal elements, disrupting their activities and supply routes.

The report stated that the troops are still on the attack and keeping pressure on terrorist groups in the area.

It also mentioned that more operations are in progress to track down the fleeing terrorists and strengthen the gains made in the area.
