Tension increased in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, Oyo State after clashes between groups of residents on Wednesday.
Reports say that the unrest involved people from the Yoruba and Hausa communities. But as of now, authorities have not confirmed the details about what happened.
Officials from Operation Burst, the joint security team in Oyo State, were sent to the area to bring back normalcy and keep the peace.
Residents are advised to stay calm, avoid the affected areas, and listen for updates from security agencies as they work to manage the situation and stop it from getting worse.
There are also reports that a depot used by scavengers, known locally as "Bolla," was set on fire during the unrest.
But the reasons behind the fire and who started it have not been verified at the time of this report.
Security officials have not released an official statement about the incident yet.
