The police have confirmed that three students from the Federal University of Lafia (Fulafia) in Nasarawa State were kidnapped.

Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, shared this news in a statement on Wednesday in Lafia.

Mr Nansel stated that the police got the report from the university's chief security officer (CSO) on Tuesday around 9:20 p.m.

The CSO informed the police that armed men took the three students from Living Seed Lodge, which is in a bushy area outside the student residential community.

"Upon receiving the report, the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Shetima Mohammed, quickly ordered tactical teams, patrol operatives, and other security personnel to go to the scene.

The operatives moved fast and started a coordinated search-and-rescue operation in the nearby forest.

The quick action of the police helped them rescue one of the kidnapped students.

They are now working hard to ensure that the other two students are also rescued and to catch the criminals responsible for this act," he said.

The PPRO assured the public that everything possible would be done to bring the kidnappers to justice.

He encouraged residents to stay calm and alert, and to keep helping the police by sharing any useful information that could aid in the ongoing operations.

Mr Nansel also advised everyone to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station for a quick response.
