Three Suspects Arrested for Murder in Osun, Weapons Found

The Osun State Police have arrested three people linked to the murder of Seun Ajayi in Ikire. They also found an axe, two double-edged knives, and three mobile phones.

The police named the suspects as Nurudeen Ademakinwa, 30; Agboluaje Usman, 23; and Awoniran Toheeb, 20.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Ojelabi, shared this news in a statement from Osogbo on Thursday. He said the suspects attacked Ajayi at a barbing salon in Oja-Ale, Ikire, on October 3, 2026.

Ojelabi explained that a complainant, who was with Ajayi at the salon, managed to escape when the attackers came at them with machetes around 6 PM.

The statement said, "On 03/10/2026 at about 1930hrs, the complainant reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Ikire, that on the same date at about 1800hrs, while he and his friend were barbing their hair at a salon located at Oja-Ale, some hoodlums led by one Nurudeen Ademakinwa, a.k.a. Igboya Aye-nuru, and others armed with dangerous weapons attacked them and macheted one Seun Ajayi to death while he escaped."

On October 5, through a smart operation based on tips, the police caught Ademakinwa along with the other two suspects for the murder. They recovered one axe, two double-edged knives, and some mobile phones.

Ojelabi also claimed that Ademakinwa had sent voice messages threatening residents of Wasinmi community. He warned them to leave town or face serious consequences.

The police spokesperson said Ademakinwa was also involved in the killing of two pedestrians during an attack on police officers from the Ikire Division on August 24.

The suspects will be taken to court after the police finish their investigation.
