Top APC Leaders Gather in Osun for Final Rally

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma; Edo Governor, Monday Okpebholo; and Kogi Governor, Ahmed Usman, have landed in Osogbo for the All Progressives Congress mega rally.

Ondo Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and James Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, are also in town for the mega rally set for Thursday.

This big political event is part of the APC’s last push for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The arrival of these senior party leaders and governors is expected to boost the APC campaign as the party ramps up its grassroots mobilization across Osun.

The mega rally, happening on the last day of the official campaign period, is likely to draw in APC leaders, supporters, campaign coordinators, and members from all 30 local government areas of Osun.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set August 13 as the last day for campaigns before the election, after changing the election date from August 8 to August 15.

APC leaders are using this final stretch of the campaign to strengthen support for Oyebamiji, who was chosen as the party’s candidate during the governorship primary in Osogbo.

Sources say the visiting governors and other APC leaders have started meeting with party members and supporters, including Osun indigenes from their states, to rally more support for the party’s candidate.

This effort is expected to work alongside the APC’s existing grassroots structures in the state, as the party looks to turn its campaign efforts into votes for Oyebamiji on Saturday.

Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has been campaigning under the APC banner, urging voters to support his goal of bringing development back to the state.

The mega rally is set to be the APC’s main show of strength before the campaign ends at midnight on Thursday.

With the election just days away, the APC aims to strengthen its support base, reach undecided voters, and boost its mobilization efforts ahead of the election.
