US air strikes on Iran have damaged desalination pumps in the coastal village of Bunji. This has cut off water supply to about 10,000 people in 20 villages. The strikes on Iran continued for the seventh night on Friday.

This attack on a desalination plant is part of a series of US strikes on civilian facilities in Iran. PREMIUM TIMES had earlier reported that bridges, power facilities, and a train station were destroyed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Al Jazeera reported that earlier strikes targeted cities like Yazd, Lar, Ahvaz, Sirik, Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, and Darab. There were also explosions on Qeshm Island. In Hormozgan province, air strikes hit two bridges and one tunnel.

Authorities in Hormozgan province confirmed that three people were killed and eight others were injured in what they called “enemy” attacks on various locations in the area.

Iran’s National Water Company, Hormozgan Water, condemned the US strikes, calling them a “series of crimes and terrorist strikes.” The company said the pumping station that extracts water from the sea and a power transformer at the Bunji desalination plant were “completely destroyed.”

In response, Iran launched what it called a “corresponding response” at Gulf States that host US military bases, including Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported that an Iranian strike caused a fire at a power and water desalination plant.

The ministry stated, “All operational and emergency plans were activated immediately upon the occurrence of the incident.” Kuwait National Airport has also paused its operations, with flights rescheduled and airways closed.

Kuwait has labeled the Iranian attack as a “heinous Iranian aggression targeting vital facilities and essential infrastructure, endangering the lives and safety of civilians.”

Bahrain has reported that its defence forces intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed these attacks, stating that their naval forces struck the US fleet’s fuel support pier at Al-Ahmadi port in Kuwait and the location of US warplanes at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

Reports from American media say Iranian attacks on US military bases in Jordan have left several American service members injured. However, the exact number of injured soldiers has not been revealed, and the US has not disclosed any casualties from the latest Iranian strikes. CBS News reported that Jordan intercepted at least four drones in the last 24 hours.

Iranian state media, the Tasnim news agency, also announced that the IRGC claimed to have destroyed a US intelligence data centre, Batelco, in Bahrain.
