A woman who was shot during a kidnapping in Ogbere Forest, Ogun State, shared her painful experience after security forces rescued her.
After her rescue, she described how armed men blocked the road and ordered her to get out of her car.
“When we were going to the centre of the road, what I saw was a young man parked… He said, ‘Come out, or I will shoot you.’ I managed myself, I said, ‘I won’t come out.’ He fired me with a bullet,” she said.
She explained that after shooting her, one of the attackers came back and took away some of her family members.
“He grabbed my daughter… and he shot me. He came back again, grabbed my sister and me,” she recounted.
The woman was one of five victims rescued in 25 hours during a joint operation by the police in Lagos and Ogun States under Operation KOSAYE.
Police reported that the woman suffered gunshot wounds during the attack and is currently receiving medical care.
The police said they are still working to catch the remaining members of the kidnapping gang.
