Aero Contractors flight heads back to Lagos due to technical problem

An Aero Contractors flight going from Lagos to Abuja on Saturday morning had to turn back to Lagos after the crew found a technical problem while flying.

The flight took off from Lagos at about 7:30 a.m. It had gone a bit into the journey when the crew decided to stop the flight and head back to Lagos as a safety measure.

All passengers got off the plane safely after landing, and there were no injuries reported.

One passenger on the flight told PREMIUM TIMES that the cabin got very hot while they were in the air, which made passengers worried.

The passenger said the crew let everyone know that there was a technical issue with the plane and they would return to Lagos, but they did not explain what the problem was.

“There was a lot of panic because people did not know exactly what had happened. We were only told there was a technical problem and that we had to return to Lagos,” the passenger said.

By 10:10 a.m., passengers affected by the situation had started boarding another Aero Contractors flight to carry on to Abuja, according to one of the passengers who talked to PREMIUM TIMES.

PREMIUM TIMES reached out to Aero Contractors for comments about the incident. They asked about the technical issue that was reported, why the plane had to come back to Lagos, and the plans made for the people affected.

But as of the time this report was written, the airline had not replied.
