A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, Aliyu Mohammed, has shown his support for the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna. He pointed out that the achievements of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya have put the APC in a strong position for the upcoming elections.

Arewa PUNCH reports that Mohammed, also known as Kombat, is the founder of the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation and the CEO of Velocity Nigeria Limited.

He made this open support known at a gathering of his supporters in Gombe. There, he officially merged his political group with Gwamna’s campaign.

He explained that this decision came after long discussions with his foundation members, political associates, and community leaders.

“After carefully assessing the political landscape and Dr. Gwamna’s agenda, I became convinced that supporting the APC candidate is the best path for the continued development of Gombe State,” Mohammed said.

The politician added that Governor Yahaya’s performance has made the party’s campaign much easier.

According to Mohammed, “What Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has done for Gombe State is visible to everyone. Even those who are not from Gombe can see the transformation.

“Because of these achievements, we believe the APC is in a very strong position going into the election.”

While expressing his confidence in the party’s chances, Mohammed called on members to stay united as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

“I want to call on all APC members to come together, support our candidate and work for the progress of our party and the continued development of Gombe State,” he pleaded.

In response, APC governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Gwamna, praised Kombat for his commitment to youth development. He called him a key mobiliser for the party.

“We appreciate his doggedness in bringing everyone together and for making the youth of our state his priority. Whoever abandons the youth abandons the future of that society. In Kombat, we have found someone who believes in the future of Gombe.”

Gwamna promised that if he becomes governor in 2027, his administration will focus on creating jobs for youths and women. This includes supporting entrepreneurship, skills acquisition programmes, and policies to boost economic growth.

He also urged party members to work together to ensure the APC wins at all levels.

“I want to use this opportunity to ask for your support to ensure that we deliver the APC from top to bottom. By the grace of Allah, we will deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our senators, members of the House of Representatives, members of the State House of Assembly, and, by the will of Allah, we shall also secure victory in the governorship election.”

The APC flag bearer also named Kombat as one of the party’s main campaign coordinators, saying, “From today, Engr. Aliyu Kombat is the commander of this struggle. I have confidence in his capacity to mobilise our people and deliver victory for the APC. Insha Allah, he will succeed.”

Hon. Inuwa Garba, who represents Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, also spoke. He called the endorsement a major boost for APC’s unity in Gombe State.

He praised Mohammed for putting the party’s interest above personal goals and encouraged members to stay committed to ensuring victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Kombat Humanitarian Foundation, Hon. Abubakar Danzaria, commended Mohammed’s humanitarian work across the state. He noted that his efforts have positively impacted vulnerable communities and shown his dedication to public service.

Other party members, including Hon. Bashir Santuraki, Hajiya Lailatu Deba, and Mr. Tanko Ishiyaku, promised to rally support from their communities to guarantee a big win for the APC in the upcoming elections.
