The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will launch President Bola Tinubu’s campaign council for the 2027 presidential election on Wednesday, 14 October. This is part of the party's preparations for the upcoming presidential election.

The news came from a press statement released on Monday by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set the date for the presidential election on 16 January, 2027.

The statement mentioned that the inauguration will happen at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. "The All Progressives Congress (APC) will inaugurate the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja," it said.

The party plans to release the list of directorate members who will attend the inauguration soon.

The Presidential Campaign Council will handle the APC's campaign activities leading up to the 2027 election. This includes mobilizing party members and supporters, sharing the party's manifesto and policies, engaging voters across Nigeria, and organizing campaign events.

The council will also manage how the campaign communicates, interact with the media, and encourage teamwork among party leaders, elected officials, and state campaign structures to support Mr Tinubu’s re-election efforts.

Mr Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election under the APC banner, is aiming for a second term in 2027, along with his deputy, Kashim Shettima.
