The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a new list of appointments for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC). This move aims to strengthen its mobilization efforts ahead of the upcoming election.

The new list includes appointments in several areas. This covers election planning and coordination, infrastructure, health, education, security, youth mobilization, legal affairs, and new media.

A press statement signed by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary, was issued on Wednesday. The party said the new list features leaders and members across different directorates, sector groups, mobilization structures, and operational units of the council.

Surajudeen Basiru, the APC National Secretary, signed the supplementary list.

The APC explained that these appointments aim to improve coordination among the different parts of the campaign council as preparations for the 2027 election move forward. "Our great party reiterates its commitment to ensuring effective coordination among the various components of the PCC as preparations remain in top gear for the 2027 general election," the statement said.

The expanded structure includes directorates for election planning, coordination, monitoring, and mobilization. It also covers infrastructure mobilization and sensitization, health sector mobilization, civil society engagement, financial and technical services, community support, and extractive industry mobilization.

Other directorates in the list are protocol, new media, data management, creative sector mobilization, entertainment, special duties, security and intelligence, agro-allied sector mobilization, stakeholder mobilization, youth mobilization, logistics, and operations.

The supplementary list also includes directorates for contact and mobilization, air transport mobilization, legal affairs, manufacturing, and support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It also covers education, sports, and artisan mobilization.

Additional areas mentioned are faith-based mobilization, labour union relations, welfare, morale and support, policy and manifesto development, organizing, parliamentary mobilization, and humanitarian services.

Among the new appointments are Berry Negerese and Muttaka Darma, who are now zonal co-directors for the Directorate of Election Planning, Coordination, Monitoring, and Mobilization.

Chioma Nweze, Abiodun Essiet, Moremi Ojudu, Gift Johnbull, Abdulhamid Yahaya Abba, and Abdullahi Yakasai were appointed zonal directors in the Directorate of Infrastructure Mobilization and Sensitization.

The list also includes appointments for sector-specific directorates focused on health, education, manufacturing, agriculture, transport, legal affairs, security, and youth engagement.

These latest appointments expand the campaign council’s organization. The new directorates aim to involve different professional groups, communities, sectors, and political constituencies as the presidential election approaches.

This supplementary list comes after APC announced the leadership and membership of President Tinubu’s Campaign Council for the 2027 election.

The party first released its campaign council list in October. Mr Tinubu was named chairman, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda were named vice-chairmen. Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari was appointed Director-General.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was named secretary. Other notable names include Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun State; and Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra State.
