MultiChoice Nigeria has revealed that the 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will kick off on 26 July. Contestants will compete for a massive grand prize of ₦160 million.
The organizers shared the premiere date and prize money during a media briefing in Lagos on Wednesday. They called this cash prize the largest in the show’s history since it started in Nigeria in 2006.
This year’s season comes after months of excitement. Online auditions and physical screenings held earlier this year helped to select new housemates.
The physical auditions took place from 22 to 24 May in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu. Participation was free and open to people aged 21 and above with a valid ID.
Bigger Prize
The ₦160 million grand prize is higher than last year’s amount. It continues the show’s trend of raising the winner’s reward each year.
Since it began, Big Brother Naija has become one of Africa’s biggest reality TV shows. It has created many celebrities and influencers while sparking discussions on entertainment, relationships, fashion, and social issues.
What to Expect
While the organizers have not yet revealed this season’s theme or the names of the housemates, viewers can look forward to the usual mix of tasks, games, nominations, evictions, and live shows that fans have come to love.
The show will be available on DStv and GOtv, with live streaming available 24 hours a day throughout the season.
