The senator for Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, has asked his supporters at a polling unit in Ilase-Ijesa to keep an eye on how voters choose their candidates during Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
A video that went viral on Saturday showed Fadahunsi speaking to his supporters at Polling Unit 1, NUD Primary School. This location also serves as a collation center in Ilase-Ijesa.
In the video, Fadahunsi spoke in Yoruba and encouraged those present to pay attention to the candidates voters were selecting.
“Be looking at who people thumbprint for. Whoever votes for who he or she is not supposed to vote for is not a true indigene of Ijesa in Ilase,” he said.
Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that Fadahunsi faced backlash on Tuesday for a video where he allegedly threatened members of the Accord Party before Saturday’s election.
The police invited him for questioning on Wednesday regarding those threats, but he was released afterward.
Now, his comments at the polling unit come as the governorship election is taking place across Osun State.
