Haske Leaves APC, Joins APM for Adamawa Governorship

Hon Abdulrahman Haske, a businessman and politician, has officially left the All Progressives Party (APC) and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as its governorship candidate. He made this announcement on Saturday, 12 September. Haske is ready to use APM’s growing platform to bring good governance and unlock Adamawa's economic and human potential.

The announcement took place in front of party leaders, community leaders, youth and women groups, and supporters from all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa State. Abdulgaffar Ahmed, Publicity Secretary for Haske, stated that this event marks the start of a renewed political movement based on principles, service, and the people’s aspirations.

While speaking to supporters, Haske explained that he joined APM because he believes it offers the best chance to push a development agenda focused on the people. He wants to create a more prosperous and secure Adamawa.

He said, "This decision represents a convergence of principle and purpose" and shows his commitment to good leadership, youth involvement, social development, and sustainable growth. Haske added, "Today is not merely about joining a political party; it is about strengthening a movement dedicated to the future of Adamawa State. Our objective remains clear: to build a state where governance works for the people, where young people have opportunities to succeed, where communities are connected to development, and where public resources are managed transparently for the common good."

Haske noted that the strong support for his movement across the state proves Adamawa is ready for a new leadership style. He promised to rally citizens around a development plan that focuses on agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, security, and accountable governance.

He also thanked APM's leadership for their trust in him, especially the National Chairman and the party's Adamawa State chapter. Haske stated, "I am deeply grateful to the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement for their belief in our shared vision and for entrusting me with the responsibility of carrying the party’s flag in the 2027 governorship election. I accept this mandate with humility and an unwavering determination to justify this confidence through integrity, hard work, and dedicated service to the people of Adamawa State."

Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, the National Chairman of APM, spoke at the event. He called Haske a leader whose beliefs match the party’s goals for people-focused governance. Dantalle explained that their support for Haske comes from his commitment to development and youth empowerment.

He said, "After extensive consultations, we are convinced that Abdulrahman Haske embodies the values and principles for which the Allied Peoples Movement stands. His belief in empowering ordinary citizens, promoting inclusive development, and building stronger communities aligns perfectly with our progressive vision. We are confident that he possesses the leadership capacity, credibility, and energy required to offer Adamawa a compelling alternative in 2027."

Hon Badejo Bello, the Adamawa State Chairman of APM, also praised Haske as the party's governorship candidate. He called him a bridgebuilder with a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the state.

Bello said, "Hon Abdulrahman Haske represents the kind of leadership that resonates with the aspirations of our people. His vision, record of service, and commitment to inclusive development are fully aligned with the progressive direction of our party. We are confident that under his leadership, APM will provide a platform for genuine transformation, renewed hope, and sustainable progress for the people of Adamawa State."

The event ended with a call for unity among party members and supporters. Stakeholders promised to work together to build a strong political movement leading up to the 2027 governorship election. With enthusiastic support from all 21 local government areas, the ceremony highlighted the growing excitement around Haske’s candidacy and APM’s goal to provide strong leadership in Adamawa State.
