The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, revealed that he got information suggesting some criminal suspects are being protected at the Osun State Government House.
Disu shared this news on Friday while meeting with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Government House in Osogbo.
Talking to the governor, the IGP mentioned he received complaints that Adeleke and others were not happy with the work of the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.
βIf I tell you, sir, that I have not had complaints, I have lied, and I will explain everything to you one by one, sir.
βI have heard that you are not happy, and some people are not happy with the Commissioner of Police for this reason and that reason,β Disu said.
The IGP also said that the Commissioner of Police informed him about claims that some suspects wanted by the police are hiding in the Government House.
βHe, too, has briefed me. He briefed me that some suspects he is looking for are hibernating in the Government House. I looked at that. If that is true, why should suspects be in the Government House?β he said.
Disu mentioned that he has given advice to the commissioner on how to deal with the situation.
βI have told him how to go about it. I have heard that this party and that party are hibernating suspected criminals,β he added.
The IGP did not name the suspects or give more details about the allegations during the meeting.
