Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has told all political appointees in his government who have not registered as members of the All Progressives Congress to do so right away. This is part of his plan to strengthen the party as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
He emphasized that every government official must be part of the ruling party and help build its structures across the state.
Yusuf also said his government is fully focused on winning for the APC in the 2027 elections. He mentioned that Kano will gather strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
The governor made this statement on Saturday during a meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall in Government House, Kano. This was shared in a statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa.
"If you are serving in this administration and you have not registered as a member of the APC, you should do so immediately. Every elected and appointed official must actively participate in building and strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections," he said.
The governor stated that the APC government in Kano has no regrets for supporting Tinubu. He called the President’s re-election a shared duty for all party members and political office holders.
"Kano State is fully committed to ensuring victory for the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections. We will lead the country in delivering overwhelming votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because we believe in the leadership and vision of this administration.
He reaffirmed his government’s goal to secure victory for the APC in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly, and local government elections.
"As a government, we remain committed to ensuring that the APC records victory at every level. Our duty goes beyond governance; we must also strengthen the party at the grassroots," he added.
To encourage political office holders, Yusuf approved the allocation of plots of land to over 300 political aides. This includes Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters, and Personal Assistants.
He also agreed to pay N100,000 to each of the beneficiaries.
At the meeting, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC has every reason to highlight Tinubu’s achievements to the people of Kano.
"We owe nobody an apology for promoting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The people need to know what the President is doing, just as they can see the impact of constituency projects being carried out with the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf," Falgore said.
