The Peoples Democratic Party's governorship candidate in Kwara State, Bolakale Kawu, has officially received his Certificate of Return from the party's national leaders. This is ahead of the 2027 general election.
Kawu got the certificate from the PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Muhammed. The presentation happened during a ceremony at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The event was attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters.
The news was shared in a statement on Wednesday by Kawu’s Head of Digital Communications and Media, Sa’adat Bibire. The statement said this presentation is another step in the party’s preparation for the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
Kawu called the certificate a sign of the trust and confidence the PDP and its supporters have in him across the state. He said, “Today, I officially received my Certificate of Return as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kwara State Governorship election.”
He added, “This milestone represents the trust of our great party, the support of our people, and a renewed commitment to the journey ahead.” Kawu thanked the party leadership and members for choosing him to represent them in the upcoming election.
“I am deeply grateful for the confidence placed in me and I remain committed to working with our party, our people, and all stakeholders towards achieving a greater Kwara,” he stated.
Kawu assured party members that he will keep engaging with stakeholders across the state. He plans to focus on a people-centered agenda that promotes development, inclusiveness, and good governance.
“Together, we move forward with renewed hope, unity, and determination to deliver the progress and development our people deserve,” he added.
The candidate also praised the process that led to his selection as the PDP candidate. He described it as transparent and credible. He promised to stay committed to the dreams of the people of Kwara.
