The Ondo State Police have arrested a man named Amos Paul. He is accused of burning his 10-year-old daughter's private part with a hot iron as punishment for bedwetting.
DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the Police Public Relations Officer, shared this news in a statement on Thursday.
Jimoh said the man lives in Unaun, Upenme in Owo Local Government Area. He was arrested after someone reported the incident to the police on Thursday.
The police spokesperson said the girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
"The incident was reported to the police on Thursday, 16th July, 2026. The suspect allegedly used a hot pressing iron to burn his daughter's private part as punishment for bed-wetting," the statement said.
It continued, "The victim had severe injuries and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, where she is getting treatment now."
