The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 38-year-old businesswoman. She was caught with a large stash of cocaine hidden in her luggage.

This information came from a statement by Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA. He shared this news on Sunday in Abuja.

Babafemi explained that the woman was on her way to Beijing, China. She was flying with Qatar Airways, leaving from Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos.

He mentioned that she was taken into custody on 21 June at Terminal 2 of the Lagos airport. This happened after the agency received reliable information about her activities.

"A search of her checked-in luggage led to the discovery of four large parcels of cocaine concealed in a false bottom professionally created in her bag," Babafemi said.

He added that the total weight of the cocaine found was 7.5 kilograms. This is classified as a class A drug, which is illegal in Nigeria and many other countries.
