Northern Women Ulama Back Tinubu's Re-election - Uba Sani

Governor Uba Sani has said that Northern Nigerian Women Ulama, the educated ones in Islamic matters, support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election for a second term because of his achievements and inclusive governance style.

He spoke at a meeting with delegates from all 19 northern states at the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Conference Centre on Sunday. The Governor said the delegates represent millions of people in the region.

He mentioned, "They expressed their support for our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They made their point clear through their leaders."

According to him, the delegates are not endorsing President Tinubu based on emotions or personal gain. "It is simply because of what he has done for Nigeria and for Northern Nigeria in particular," he added.

Governor Uba Sani noted that the endorsement came because of Tinubu's significant progress in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture.

The event was organized by Ibrahim Masari, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters. It saw attendance from Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State, and Professor Babagana Zulum of Borno State.

Other notable attendees included Minister of Defence Bello Matawalle, Minister of Housing Muttaqa Rabe Darma, and other senior government officials.

Governor Uba Sani explained that they were there to support the women ulama because "they are talking about issues." He added that Tinubu’s efforts in inclusivity are unmatched.

He pointed out that the Northern Women Ulama observed that President Tinubu "has treated every part of Nigeria equally, with fairness, and has been taking development to every part of Nigeria."

"But most importantly, he has invested a lot in education, which is the most vital area of focus in Northern Nigeria. You will agree with me that the gap that exists in the north is very wide," he noted.

The Governor stated that within three and a half years, the president has made investments in "not only conventional education, but most importantly in skills-based education."

"Through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the support of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the President has done a lot for the north."

He added, "Some of them (women ulama) have said here, if you go to the dashboard of NELFUND and TVET, Northern Nigeria has benefitted to the tune of over 60%."

He emphasized that President Tinubu is not tribalistic. "He believes in one Nigeria without discrimination. That is why they are motivated, inspired, and decided to come together from the 19 northern states to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu," he said.

Governor Uba Sani argued, "We as Governors supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are here to motivate them to do more and take their message to all the 19 northern states, and all our wards and local governments."

He further stated that "the north has benefitted under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu more than any leader in Nigeria's history. We have the data and the statistics and we can prove it any day anytime."

He pointed out that politicians campaigning based on the north and south are just engaging in a lazy argument. "Virtually all of them have had opportunities in the past."

According to him, some were Vice Presidents, some were governors, and some were ministers but have done little to benefit the north as much as President Tinubu has done.
