Tinubu has Kept His Promises to Kaduna and the North - Gov Sani
Governor Uba Sani encourages northern voters to back President Tinubu, highlighting his achievements in infrastructure and security.

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has called on voters in the North to back President Bola Tinubu for re-election. He says the president has fulfilled important promises in areas like infrastructure, security, education, and human capital development.
Mr Sani spoke at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign launch in Kaduna on Saturday. He pointed out projects and initiatives that he claims have improved the state and the North since the administration took office.
The governor believes that the president's achievements should guide voters in the 2027 election, not just regional ties.
He recalled President Tinubu's campaign visit to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State on December 22, 2022, when the area was facing serious security issues in the North-west.
Mr Sani said that during that visit, the president promised to rebuild the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road and address insecurity in that area.
He mentioned that the federal government has allocated N178 billion for the 123-kilometre road project, which is currently in progress.
The governor also said that the security situation in the area has improved greatly, allowing people to travel to Birnin Gwari without needing police protection.
“When someone came to us and said we should support him simply because he is a northerner, we asked him: can you show us your track record?” the governor said.
“But at this moment, the so-called northern candidate, what is his track record? No track record.”
He challenged the opposition to present similar infrastructure projects that were completed during their time in power, especially in the North.
Mr Sani also praised the Tinubu government for reopening schools and primary healthcare centres that had closed due to insecurity.
He noted that when he took office in 2023, eight local government areas in Kaduna had been affected by insecurity, leading to over 300 schools and 150 primary healthcare centres being shut down.

“Today, I’m happy to inform you that all the schools and primary healthcare centres have reopened,” he said.
The governor also mentioned the Zaria-Funtua and Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road projects as federal initiatives in Kaduna and the North.
He stated that the federal government has committed N740 billion for the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road, with around 95 percent of the project now completed.
Mr Sani added that Kaduna was chosen as the pilot state for a metropolitan rail project, with $865 million approved and $300 million already released for the project.
In addition to infrastructure, the governor highlighted the federal government's student loan and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs.
He noted that the North-west has received N84 billion through the student loan program, helping about 414,000 students. He also mentioned that 34,000 people in the region have benefited from the government’s TVET program.
Mr Sani said these programs are especially important in a region where agriculture is key to the economy and many young people need skills to enhance their livelihoods.
He also warned APC supporters about what he described as the opposition's efforts to use Artificial Intelligence in the 2027 campaign.
“The opposition have now upgraded their campaign from Facebook and Twitter to AI,” he said, urging APC supporters to stay alert.
This warning came as the APC Presidential Campaign Council accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of trying to use fake images, false documents, and AI-generated content to discredit the Kaduna rally. The council did not provide any proof for these claims.
The APC campaign kicked off in Kaduna on Saturday, with Mr Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other party leaders present as the ruling party starts its nationwide campaign for the 2027 presidential election.
