Obi criticizes Tinubu for using too many middlemen

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s way of communicating. He believes the President is hiding in a ‘bunker’ and not connecting with Nigerians like he should.

In a recent interview, Obi said that Tinubu is leading through spokespersons and aides instead of talking directly to the people. He thinks this reliance on others shows that the President is out of touch with what Nigerians really care about.

“The person voted for in this country is Bola Tinubu,” Obi said. “He’s no longer talking to us; he’s gone into Aso Rock and turned it into a bunker.”

The former governor of Anambra State stressed that if Tinubu wants to gain back the trust of the people, he needs to stop hiding away. Obi called for the President to speak directly to Nigerians instead of letting others do it for him.

Obi believes that Tinubu is not leading well by depending too much on aides. He says Tinubu’s absence from public discussions shows a bigger problem with how his administration communicates.

During a recent TV appearance, Obi said the current method is not good enough for a country facing serious economic and social issues. He accused the President of avoiding the tough conversations that need to happen.

“We want him to come out of that bunker and speak to the people,” Obi urged. He reminded everyone that the electorate voted for Tinubu himself, not for a government that operates from a distance, making people feel neglected. Meanwhile, the nation is dealing with issues like insecurity and economic struggles.

Obi argues that by pulling away from direct communication, the President is not providing the clear leadership needed to face Nigeria’s urgent problems.

The main point of Obi’s message is that Tinubu has isolated himself in Aso Rock, making it feel like the center of power is a ‘bunker.’

By choosing to let others speak for him instead of engaging directly, Obi believes Tinubu is missing the chance to build trust or address the real-life problems ordinary Nigerians face. He insists that only by stepping out of this isolation can the President truly deal with the major issues Nigeria is currently facing.
