A former Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Kayode Oladele, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is losing its appeal in Ogun State. He believes the party is no longer a good choice for voters as the 2027 governorship election approaches.

Oladele made this statement on Thursday. He pointed out that years of internal fights, leadership issues, and lack of a clear political direction have hurt the PDP’s image. He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is getting stronger through what he called "purposeful governance and measurable performance" at both federal and state levels.

The former lawmaker stressed that voters can see the difference between the two parties. While the PDP is caught up in disagreements and leadership struggles, the APC is focused on good governance and delivering real benefits to Nigerians.

"The PDP is no longer a party of choice in Ogun State. The people want leaders who deliver results, not a party always distracted by internal issues.

"The APC has shown that it deserves the trust given to it through responsible governance and policies that aim to improve the lives of the people," he said.

Oladele also noted that no political party in Nigeria can match the performance of the APC, especially under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. He mentioned that while the current administration faced tough economic problems, it has shown bravery by making reforms that past administrations avoided.

"The APC is the only party with the courage to tackle tough national problems. President Bola Tinubu has made decisions that may require short-term sacrifices but are necessary for the country’s long-term stability and growth.

"Leadership is about making tough choices for the public good, and that is what this administration has done," he said.

He is confident that Nigerians will give Tinubu a second term, saying continuity will help build on the ongoing reforms. "I am sure that President Tinubu will win another mandate in 2027. The reforms are starting to show positive results, and Nigerians will see the long-term benefits of the policies being set today," he added.

Turning to Ogun State, Oladele said the APC has become more popular because of the development efforts and constituency work of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi. He described the senator as the most qualified and accepted candidate for governor in the state, noting that his work has changed how people see legislative representation.

According to Oladele, Adeola has carried out projects in Ogun West, Ogun Central, and Ogun East without bias. He has made sure that communities across the state benefit from his work. He mentioned schools, health centers, roads, water projects, electricity initiatives, and other community efforts as part of what the senator has facilitated, improving life in many areas.

Oladele also called Adeola’s empowerment programs unprecedented in Ogun State's political history. He stated that thousands of youths, women, artisans, traders, and farmers have gained from business grants, vocational training, scholarships, agricultural support, commercial vehicles, tricycles, and tools aimed at helping people become self-sufficient.

He praised the senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, for endorsing Adeola’s governorship bid on national television. He called this endorsement a big boost to Adeola's growing support in the state, showing a shared commitment among progressive leaders to Ogun State's development.

Oladele highlighted that this endorsement adds to the widespread support Adeola has from political leaders, traditional leaders, professional groups, community organizations, youth groups, and everyday citizens across the three senatorial districts.

He believes this growing support for the senator strengthens the APC’s position as the next governorship election approaches. "The APC heads into the 2027 elections from a strong place because our achievements are clear, and our candidates have gained the people's trust through service. At the national level, President Bola Tinubu is repositioning Nigeria through brave reforms.

"In Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has kept the state’s development going, while Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has shown great dedication to the people's welfare.

"I am sure that the people of Ogun State will once again choose competence, continuity, and performance by backing the APC in the 2027 elections," he stated.

Oladele expressed confidence that the APC will keep the trust of Nigerians because of its commitment to development, responsible leadership, and national progress.
