Operatives from the Delta State Police Command have caught eight suspects after they reportedly broke out of a police station in Ughelli. These suspects are part of a group of 11 who escaped from custody.

The information comes from a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, released at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. This re-arrest is part of the Nigeria Police Force's successful operations across the country in the last 24 hours.

Iniedu mentioned that the eight suspects were caught thanks to intelligence-led operations by the police. He also said the case is being looked into by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Asaba, which is the capital of Delta State.

"Following the escape of 11 suspects from lawful custody at a police facility in Ughelli, concerted police efforts led to the re-arrest of eight suspects. Status: SCID Asaba Investigating," the statement said.
