The Sokoto State Police Command is mourning the death of Inspector Adamu Isah. He collapsed shortly after joining the command’s weekly walkathon exercise on Wednesday.

Isah worked with the Department of Operations. He had just returned from the exercise at the command headquarters when he suddenly fell down.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, shared a statement on Thursday. He said the officer was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but doctors later confirmed he had died.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Shaffa, spoke about the tragic event. He called Isah’s death a painful loss for the command and offered condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

“The Sokoto State Police Command is deeply saddened by the sudden and painful loss of our colleague, Inspector Adamu Isah. He was a dedicated and gallant officer who served his fatherland with unwavering commitment and professionalism,” Shaffa said.

The CP mentioned that Isah was also active in sports. He was part of the command’s volleyball team and was a boxer.

“His energy, discipline, and team spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him,” he added.

Shaffa praised Isah as a disciplined officer. He said Isah made significant contributions to the command’s operations. He assured Isah’s family that the police would support them during this time.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family during this difficult time. We pray that the Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.

The commissioner encouraged the command's personnel to stay strong. He asked them to find comfort in Isah’s years of service to the nation while praying for the peaceful rest of his soul.
