Police in Delta State have arrested some suspected fraudsters with fake 1,600 Dollar bills in a community.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, shared this in a statement given to reporters in Warri on Thursday.

Edafe said, “On June 9, 2026, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on credible intelligence, began surveillance on a five-man group reportedly involved in defrauding unsuspecting people using counterfeit United States dollar bills. They were operating in a red unregistered Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV.

“The operation based on intelligence led to the arrest of four suspects identified as Joshua Nwaosa, Daniel Arhewe, Prince Chukwuma, and John Egwuba along Nnebisi Road, Asaba.

“During initial questioning, the suspects admitted they were operating from a hideout in Asaba.

“A follow-up operation was quickly carried out at the location, where officers found 1,600 counterfeit United States Dollar notes and military camouflage hidden on the premises.”

The police spokesman confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to uncover the full activities of the fraud group.
