Police nab man for raping and robbing Enugu POS operators
The Enugu State Police arrested Ugbor Paul for raping and robbing female POS operators. He used fake identities to lure victims into secluded areas.

The Enugu State Police has arrested a 30-year-old man, Ugbor Paul. He is accused of raping, robbing, and extorting female Point-of-Sale operators and young women in Enugu city.
The police confirmed the arrest in a statement from their Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Tuesday.
The police found that the suspect tricked female POS operators into quiet places, pretending to want to make big cash transactions. Instead, he would rob and sexually assault them.
Ndukwe also mentioned that the suspect made a fake Facebook account under the name ‘Franklin Umeh’ to trap unsuspecting women online.
During his arrest, officers found a mobile phone with many explicit videos and nude photos of both known and unknown victims.
Ndukwe shared details about the suspect's actions. “The first victim, a 20-year-old POS operator at Akwata Market, Enugu, was lured to a bush behind St. Peter’s Church, Coal Camp, at about 11:00 a.m. on May 21, 2026, where the suspect allegedly robbed her of N600,000 and raped her.
“The second victim, a 30-year-old POS operator at the same market, was lured to the same spot at about 5:00 p.m. on August 11, 2026, and robbed of N120,000 after he tried to rape her.”

On October 4, 2026, the suspect used his fake Facebook profile to lure a 21-year-old woman to Old Park, Enugu. He then took her to a bush path along Udi Siding.
He allegedly raped her, recorded her nude, and took N100,000 and her mobile phone. The suspect later asked for N200,000 to delete the footage, using her phone to reach out to her WhatsApp contacts.
Ndukwe said investigations are still ongoing. He promised that the suspect would face court after the investigation.
He also encouraged other victims of cyberstalking, sexual violence, or extortion to reach out to the police to help with the ongoing case.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Giwa, assured that the command is dedicated to fighting violent crimes. He urged business owners and residents, especially women, to stay alert and report any suspicious people to security agencies.
