Police arrest 28-year-old for robbing POS operator at gunpoint

The police in Enugu State have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly robbing a female Point-of-Sale (POS) operator of N200,000 at gunpoint in Obollo-Afor, Udenu Local Government Area.
This information came from a statement by the police spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Sunday in Enugu.
Mr Ndukwe, a superintendent of police, said that on 18 October at about 12:26 p.m., police officers from the Udenu Division, along with members of the Neighbourhood Watch Group, arrested the suspect.
The arrest followed a report that he robbed the victim at her shop on Old Orba Road, Uhulor, Obollo-Afor on 17 October at about 9 a.m.
“Initial investigations show that the victim raised an alarm as the suspect ran away, threatening to shoot anyone who chased him.

“A Beretta-like pistol and an empty 9mm ammunition shell were found with him. The suspect has admitted to the crime during questioning.
“He will be taken to court once investigations are complete,” Mr Ndukwe said.
Mr Ndukwe also shared that the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mamman Giwa, praised the officers for their successful operation. He also recognized the support from the neighbourhood watch group.
The commissioner reminded everyone about the police's dedication to fighting crime and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities to the police and other recognized security bodies.
