Police nab suspect in Bauchi murder case

The Bauchi State Police have arrested a 24-year-old man named Abdulrazak Sale. He is linked to the murder of a 46-year-old man, Rilwanu Dauda, in the Karofin Madaki area of the state.

Nafiu Habib, the police spokesperson, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday. He said the suspect was taken into custody three months after the incident.

Habib explained that Dauda, who lived in Karofi, was attacked and allegedly stabbed with a knife by Sale, also known as “Abba Sale Police,” and members of his gang on July 5, 2026.

Dauda was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi. Doctors there confirmed he was dead around 11am that same day.

After the attack, the police reported that the suspects ran away. They were then placed on the command's watchlist.

The police noted that these suspects had been linked to another murder motivated by politics in the same area before they went into hiding.

On October 5, 2026, police operatives from the 'A' Division, Township, arrested Sale. This was exactly three months after the murder.
