Residents Celebrate After Kidnapped Family is Freed

Residents of Igboho in Oyo State were filled with joy after a kidnapped family was freed. This family included a pregnant woman, her children, and a sibling. Their release came after Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, known as Sunday Igboho, gave a two-hour ultimatum to the kidnappers.

A video shared on social media showed large crowds of people singing, dancing, and celebrating the return of the victims. The mood was festive as the community welcomed back their loved ones.

This event follows Igboho's earlier warning to suspected leaders of the Fulani community. He spoke out about the increasing kidnappings and the insecurity in the area. His message was clear and firm.

In a previous viral video, Igboho addressed community representatives and traditional leaders. He expressed his anger over recent killings and abductions. He pointed fingers at some members of the Fulani community for being involved in these crimes.

Igboho mentioned a case involving a pregnant woman and ransom negotiations that ended tragically. "The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person," he said. His warning was serious: such incidents must not happen again.

He gave a two-hour ultimatum for the release of other victims who had been taken. He said he had been patient because traditional rulers asked him to be calm. "I am Sunday Igboho. I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm with you. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen," he stated.

Igboho also warned that if the kidnappers did not comply, he would take strong action. He hinted at possibly going into areas linked to the kidnappings.
