Royal Exchange brings in Geoffrey Ohen as new board member

Royal Exchange Plc has appointed Geoffrey Ohen as its Non-Executive Director, starting from 23 July.

The insurance company announced the appointment in a regulatory filing signed by Lovelyn Aniekwe, the company secretary, on Wednesday.

Royal Exchange said Mr Ohen has the right skills and experience to help the board and support the company’s growth.

“The Company is confident that Dr. Geoffrey C. Ohen has the requisite skills and experience to make a meaningful contribution to the Company’s Board and to support the Company’s continued growth and success,” the company stated.

The company noted that Mr Ohen completed all necessary steps before his appointment.

Royal Exchange added that the new non-executive director will help with its strategic leadership and expansion plans.

Mr Ohen is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Geoff Ohen Group. He has held many leadership roles at board level.

According to Royal Exchange, he is currently the Chairman of Consolidated Resources Ltd, Ekocorp Plc, Owa Oil & Gas Ltd, and Networth Group, which includes Networth Securities & Finance Ltd and Networth Portfolio & Asset Management Ltd.

He has also been the Chairman of Piccadilly Insurance Ltd and New Patriot Building Society Ltd. He was a director at Daily Times of Nigeria Plc.

Royal Exchange described Mr Ohen as a well-traveled executive and philanthropist with a clear vision, business skills, and strong operational knowledge.

Mr Ohen is also an Honorary Life Member of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association Board in Geneva, Switzerland.

He graduated from the University of Benin Medical School and the Lagos Business School.

He is a Fellow Associate of General Practice (FAGP), a Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD), and a Member of the Board of Trustees of St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi.
